DIY Natural Deodorant for Sensitive Skin
If you have sensitive skin, chances are you are limited to certain types of soaps, deodorant or fragrances you can use. You may not be able to use commercial products at all. We totally feel your pain. If you have this issue, here are a couple of simple DIY recipes you can make at home using ingredients you can find in your kitchen. The products are sure to neutralize your body odor, leaving your underarms odor free, even on these hot summer days!
Apple Cider Vinegar with tea tree oil
- 1 C. Water
- 1/4 C. Apple Cider Vinegar
- 10-15 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
Apple Cider Vinegar with Baking Powder
- 1 C. Water
- 1/4 C. AVC
- 2 Tbsp. Baking Soda
- 10-15 drops Tea Tree Oil or any other essential oil
- Combine ingredients in a bottle or Jar. Use a cotton ball to apply underneath each arm. You can also use a little in the areas where you tend to sweat most. The tea tree oil and Lavender Oil works to neutralize the potency of the AVC. You can also take it a step further and use powder to help lock in the deodorant and help with sweating. We recommend use something like Arm and Hammer or Gold Bond. However, you can use whatever works best for you.
Note: You can adjust the ratio if you like. However, it’s very IMPORTANT to make sure you don’t add too much essential oil to your mix, or else you can cause an unbearable burning sensation and irritation to your skin. If you should experience any burning with the essential oil, you can use a carrier oil to wipe it off (i.e. Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Grapeseed Oil, etc.).
We hope this helps you guys! If you have any questions or tips to offer feel free to leave a comment below!
